I do not watch the news or do computer work late at night because this sends my brain into working mode. I want my brain to be in relaxation mode. I take a hot bath, listen to soothing music, things that are relaxing.
I take my calcium at night, before I go to bed.
I breath deeply several times. Then, I focus on the color blue - a deep cobalt relaxing blue.
A few tricks here - relax with your palms of your hands upward. There are chakras in the hands associated with giving and receiving. I don't know exactly why this makes such a huge difference for me but it does. So, palms up it is.
When my brain starts thinking of all the to-do's, etc. I say "My brain is blank. I can think tomorrow. Now, my brain is blank." I have found this little statement to really help.
Also, many people suggest asking God/Universe to show you the way to accomplish your goals during your sleep. When I have tried this, I am awake all night because I have given my brain a command and it's working away giving me all kinds of information for the next day. For me, personally, I ask for guidance each morning instead of before I go to bed.
